No dia de S. Martinho, come-se castanhas e bebe-se vinho

Hoje é dia de S. Martinho e quando fui buscar o meu "pestinha" à escola lá estava ele com um presentinho para nós, para comemorar este dia.... Obrigada filho... E obrigada Ana e Xana!

Today is St. Martin day (in Portugal we eat chestnuts on this day) and when I went to pick up my little "brat" in school he had this gift  for us to celebrate the day.... Thank you... And thank you Ana and Xana!

A arte de dobrar papel } The art of paper folding

Descobri o trabalho da Rita Vaz, que domina a arte de dobrar papel como ninguém. Todos nós já fizemos o barquinho de papel ou o chapéu e se se lembrarem bem durante os tempos de escola tínhamos na lista de material o bloco de papel de lustro para as dobragens... Na verdade o origami é uma arte com um universo ilimitado de possibilidades, basta ver pelos trabalhos da Rita.

Desafio-vos a conhecerem melhor o trabalho dela e a inspirarem-se para, por exemplo, prendas de natal, decorações, bijuteria, postais super originais, caixinhas, flores de papel na decoração, marcadores de mesa...usem e abusem da imaginação...

I discovered the work of Rita Vaz, who mastered the art of paper folding as anyone. We've all done the paper boat or hat... Actually origami is an art with an unlimited universe of possibilities, just see the work of Rita.

I challenge you to learn more about her work and be inspired to make, for example, Christmas gifts, decorations, jewelry, cards very original, boxes, paper flowers in decoration, table markers... use and abuse of the imagination...

Deixo aqui um placard de inspiração com botões que recolhi da sweetest occasion e bridal musing.

Adoro os 3 primeiros, mas aquelas caixinhas de madeira que vi na festa não me saiem da cabeça.

Adorei fazer esta mesa e sim foi praticamente tudo feito, mesmo as compotas são caseiras.
Acabou por ser um projecto da família. Adorámos fazer os dedos de bruxa e as corujas (prometo passar as receitas num próximo post). E gostei particularmente das coroas de penas que acabaram por ficar bem charmosas.

I enjoyed making this table, and yes, almost everything was done by us, even the jams are homemade. Turned out to be a family project. We loved to do the witches fingers and the owls (I promise to post the recipe in future). I loved my wreaths of feathers that ended up to be very charming.
